I don't have a dedicated Macro lens at the moment, but do have a 28-80 zoom with a Macro setting/feature that seems to be doing an OK job.
I saw a very similar idea being used in portrait pics (Keetley's 1000 faces) and thought I could make it work as a Macro theme.
This is a piece of flyscreen strung up about 30 cm in front of a vase containing a red/orange rose and a pink rose. I've then used as shallow a d.o.f as I could to focus just on the screen (and the drops I had sprayed onto it).
I was lucky enough to win the Macro theme at my local photography clubs November 2007 meet with this shot.
